NEWS:
One of the youngest and promising alumni associations in Kazakhstan has turned 1 year old this past May 1st of 2011.
What has been accomplished within that timeframe? There are plenty to be proud about. Main achievements of AAA are:
· Formation of Executive Board consisted of officers and leaders of the projects.
· Recruitment of new members, including 2 people from Atyrau. Currently there is a successfully run chapter in petro capital of Kazakhstan – Atyrau
· Launch of our own web-site www.astana-alumni.kz
· Publication of monthly newsletter
· Promotion of AAA activities through Facebook, Youtube (AlumniAstana), Podkazt
· Realization of the following projects: Discussion Club, Universal Skills, Education Abroad, Helping Orphanages, Important skills trainings.
Overall, it has been quite a fruitful and interesting year. Growing potential of AAA, with increasing number of projects, brings us among most notable non-government organizations not only in Astana, but all over Kazakhstan. I would like to thank following active members for incessant support – Asset Abdualiev, Aizhan Mendygarina, Aizhan Karabukayeva, Dinara Tussupova, Assem Panova, Almira Zakiyeva, Assemgul Temirkhan, and Asiya Kobzhassarova. Their enthusiasm, energy and leadership potential serves as a solid foundation for further successful development of Astana Alumni Association
We are open for anyone who shares our vision and mission, who wants to contribute to the development of our society, increase the competitive capability of fellow Kazakhstanis and share the knowledge and experience for the sake of the people.
With best regards,
Samat Panov
President of Astana Alumni Association

leader of the Discussion Club project, invited extraordinary guest, former KVN
player, and currently the leader of the youth movement – Nurlan Uteshev. 33
years old secretary turned out very outgoing and open person. After the short
introduction, the meeting transitioned to the Q&A session.
He first touched the political ground during the youth forum in Semey in 1998. As the result of the forum, there was “For Kazakhstan’s future” organization created. Up until 2002 he kept his hobby of playing KVN and simultaneously progressed in his professional career. At the age of 25 he becomes executive director of “Youth Congress of Kazakhstan”. “What are the benefits of the membership in “Zhas Otan”?” Nurlan thinks that every member of the youth wing can find opportunities to realize the leadership potential and responsibility as the member of Kazakhstan’s society. Every member of “Zhas Otan” has the chance to contribute towards the development and prosperity of Kazakhstan. Currently, there are 190 thousand members registered. However, the executive board includes only 20 people and one person per region all over Kazakhstan.
In the 2011 “Zhas Otan” actively participates for the preparation for the early elections of the president. There are also other initiatives and objectives set for this year, such as “Prosperity of the Village in Kazakhstan” program, “Zhas Otan Zhas Kyran” and others, including celebration of 20th anniversary of the Independence of Kazakhstan.
